Chatsworth man dies from fiery crash in Pa.; friends try to bring his injured dog home

A Chatsworth man died as the result of injuries he sustained in a fiery crash in Pennsyvlania late Sunday night.

According to reports, Richard Sullivan was a long distance truck driver. He was traveling in Shippensburg, Pa., when the crash occurred.

The fiery crash invovled three tractor trailers and happened shortly before midnight on Interstate 81 near the Shippensburg exit.

The interstate was shut down until just after 7 Monday morning.

The Pennsylvania State Patrol is investigating.

No other information was available at press time Tuesday evening concerning the crash.

Family members say Sullivan’s dog, pictured with Sullivan below, was a constant companion on Sullivan’s drives.

Bella is a blue pit bull and was with Sullivan at the time of the crash.

The dog was thrown from the rig and suffered extensive injuries.

Bella suffered fractured pelvic bones and had to have her right back leg amputated, according to information on a family member’s Facebook page.

The family was attempting to raise funds to bring Bella back home.
