A Dalton man died in a motorcycle crash on Highway 282 and authorities believe the crash happened Friday night. According to reports from the Georgia State Patrol, 24-year-old Tyler Jacob Zilbert was believed to have been traveling west when his motorcycle left the roadway and struck a rock.

A resident had noticed debris in the area on Friday but it was not until Sunday when she and her husband walked to the area and saw the wrecked bike and victim.

In an unrelated crash, two people died as the result of a two-car crash on Highway 225 South north of Bright Road last Tuesday. Katrina Marie White, 27, of Brown Bridge Road, Dalton, was driving a Ford Focus when it crossed the center line striking a Ford truck driven by 27-year-old Joshua Dean Brown of Cartersville head on.

White and a passenger in her car, Rodney Aurther Parker, both died as a result of the crash.

Alcohol could have been a factor. Authorities are waiting on toxicology reports.
