Bates selected to work on NAEP and The Nation’s Report Card

April 2014, Chatsworth, Georgia- Gladden Middle School Principal, Ardith Bates, has been selected to join the Inaugural Standing Committee of Principals for the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), also known as The Nation’s Report Card. Dr. Bates is one of ten principals chosen from across the nation to serve for the next three years on this committee.

The ten person committee is a part of the Principal Ambassador Fellowship led by US Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.

In serving on this committee, Dr. Bates will be working on with the United States Department of Education sharing her expertise and recommendations on key issues, which will ultimately help guide the future of the NAEP and shape the national dialogue on K-12 educational testing during the next decade. The other 9 committee members were chosen from Oregon, New Hampshire, Wyoming, Texas, Arizona, Arkansas, Tennessee, Maryland, and Washington, DC.
