A one-vehicle crash Sunday night on Highway 225 claimed the life of 22-year-old Michael James Dudley.

According to reports from the Georgia State Patrol, Dudley was traveling south, negotiating a curve near Coffey Church Road when the 1997 Nissan Maxima he was driving crossed the center line and then traveled back across the road and went into the ditch. The Nissan overturned three times and struck a cable pole and came to rest on its top.

Dudley was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

A passenger in the car, 22-year-old Joshua Lee McAtee, of Crandall, was transported from the scene to Hamilton Medical Center, but his injuries were not life threatening.

The crash happened around 9:30 Sunday night.

Blood tests are pending.
