Murray County Sheriff Gary Langford said that department invesitgators have developed good leads in the case.
Deputies were called around 4 a.m. on March 7 to a home on Deer Park Drive. A woman inside the home had escaped during the incident and went to a neighbor’s home to call 911 and report that three people were being held at gunpoint in the home by two people wearing masks.
When deputies arrived, the suspects had apparently fled out a back door into a wooded area.
Officers searching the area in daylight hours found a flashlight, two pairs of gloves, a boot, a holster and toboggan believed to have been left by the suspects.
A shot was fired during the incident.
In the home, a male victim had been pistol whipped and struck about the head according to Langford, who said officers urged the man to seek medical attention for his wounds.
Langford did not know whether the victim had sought medical care or not.
