Following two postponements due to the weather, the 2014 Bagley Middle School Invitational Quiz Bowl Team was finally held on Wednesday, February 26. The fun-filled event allowed thirteen teams from seven area schools to exhibit their knowledge, quickness, and competitiveness. Players had to answer questions from the areas of math, English, social studies, science, sports, art, current events, local history, and music. At the end of round-robin play within two divisions, both Bagley teams were undefeated and took first place, while New Hope Middle School’s two teams finished as runners-up.

The Bagley-A team consisted of Captain Cole Cash, Aaron Howard, Josh Abernathy-all eighth graders—along with seventh graders Caroline Ridley, and Kaylor Mullis. They had wins over Westside (185-0), North Whitfield (85-55), Gladden (135-45), New Hope (185-0), Valley Point (125-20), and Eastbrook (115-30). They averaged 138 points per round. Aaron Howard from this team was named MVP for the tournament with 190 points. Cash had 120 points while Abernathy and Ridley had 10 points each.
