Qualifying for elections ends locally at noon on Friday for non-partisan elections and Board of Education districts 5, 6 and 7.

Non-partisan candidates and Republican candidates can qualify at the elections office in the Murray County Courthouse annex. Democrat candidates qualify at the Murray County Senior Center on GI Maddox Parkway.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Incumbent Chief Magistrate Judge Gale Buckner was the sole qualifier for Murray County Chief Magistrate Judge.

For the Murray County Board of Education:

Republican Frank Loyd qualified for District 5, incumbent Robbie Moore is expected to seek re-election but had not qualified as of Tuesday.

For District 6, Republican Incumbent Brenda Sandlin and David Long also qualified as a Republican.

For District 7, Incumbent Jackie Rogers qualified as a Republican and Tim Howard qualified as a Democrat.

Incumbent Conasauga Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge David Blevins had qualified in Atlanta.

The primary election is set for May 20, with a run-off date of July 22.

The General Election will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2014.
