Due to public response and feedback, the Murray County Animal Control and Shelter Unit and the Murray County Humane Society have announced an extended hours rabies vaccination clinic will be held this Saturday at the Tractor Supply in Chatsworth off Highway 52.

Hours for the clinic will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rabies vaccinations will be available for $10.

Several clinics have already been held to give residents the opportunity to vaccinate their pets after a rabid stray cat was found to be in Murray County in the area of Old Federal Road. A couple of people had to undergo treatment after being bitten or scratched by the cat.

Officials remind citizens that vacinating pets against rabies is the state law in Georgia. For more information, call 706-695-8001.
