The plant, which will be 365,000 square feet, will employ about 160 people, but company officials say there is room to double the amount of equipment. Luc Blommaert is CEO of Mattex Group which is a Dubai-based company.
The Murray County plant is the company’s first manufacturing facility in the U.S. and will be the company U.S. headquarters.
The company makes carpet and artificial grass backings, woven and unwoven geotextiles and polyolefin-based textiles.
Officials plan to be open next summer.
