After many months of studying the budget and getting prices from law enforcement police vehicle dealers (Ford, Chevrolet and Dodge), the Charger got the nod of approval.
Sheriff Gary Langford stated that going with the Dodge Charger as a patrol vehicle has saved the county tax payers almost $15,000.00 as opposed to other makes and models.
The Chargers come to MCSO already fully equipped and ready to patrol.
MCSO was in need of patrol vehicles and Sheriff Langford and Major Greg Fowler wanted to ensure that tax dollars were spent wisely, and that the officers were also getting a safe and reliable police patrol vehicle that, over the duration, would be an asset to MCSO and Murray County as a whole.
Look for the new vehicles to be on patrol within the month of August 2013.
