Arts and crafts, food, games, events, activities, and live entertainment for the whole family with the first block party planned for downtown Chatsworth from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on July 13. Admission is free.

Downtown Chatsworth will be hosting a series of Block Parties from July to December. East Market Street will be closed from Third Avenue to Second Avenue on the second Saturday of each month through December.

Sponsors for the Downtown Block Party include the Chatsworth-Eton-Murray Chamber of Commerce, the City of Chatsworth, Murray Arts Council, and the Go Murray Arts Center. Organizers are looking for other sponsors, so if you are interested, please contact the Chamber of Commerce or John Christian at the Go Murray Arts Center.

Each month, the Block Party will have a different theme appropriate to the season.

July 13th - “Beach Party” Great beach music, drinks, and games from hoola-hoops to frisbee.

August 10th - “Year Book Throw Back” Wear and/or bring items from your old school days, enter to win prizes, and enjoy great entertainment from decades gone by.

September 14th and 15th will be the “Kids Art Expo and Games.” Over 20 different art and dramatic activities and games designed to support the art integration program for Murray County youth.

October 12th - “Not so Great Pumpkin Party” with games and events for the whole family.

November 9th - “Taste of Chatsworth”

December 14th “A Dickens Christmas”

“We are actively seeking vendors, volunteers, and talent to perform on our stage for each event,” said John Christian with the Go Murray Arts Center.

“We need vendors that can hold an activity along with selling their product. We are also looking for food vendors; each vendor will get a 12x12 or 15x15 booth at a cost of $25.00 per event day. Event sponsorships are also available.”
